Jim Birdowner/producer/director/video editor
Jim has worked successfully in the Canadian corporate communications and video community for over 30 years. After graduating from Ryerson University, Jim worked in the news department at radio station CFNY. From there he mixed sound and produced multimedia presentations for Ryerson and Holman productions. Jim began producing and directing video for The St. John Group, a small communications agency, creating high-concept videos for leading technology companies like Nortel and Bell Northern Research. In 1988 he formed Coolfire Inc. with writer/producer Tom Pendlebury. Jim assumed sole ownership of Coolfire in 2013. Professional skills include producing, directing, illustration, production design and video editing. Jim brings a seasoned, enthusiastic and client-centred approach to his work. The creative and production process is always highly organized, value-focused, flexible, collaborative and fun.
Christie McNabbmotion graphics & video editor
Christie possesses the prerequisites for any successful video editor: speed and technical proficiency. Beyond those skills she is always a vital creative contributor to every project, demonstrating excellent instincts for timing, pacing and storytelling. Christie is also a highly skilled animator and motion graphic artist, working in applications like Apple Motion and Adobe After Effects.

Dave is Coolfire’s go-to source for all things audio, including high-quality stock music, original music composition, voice talent, recording, mixing and sound design. Dave and his company, DB Audio combine speed and technical prowess with imagination and artistry. They’re also specialists in multi-language versioning.
Production CrewDirectors of Photography
Coolfire works closely with a small stable of talented camera operator/owners, each equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, lenses, lighting equipment and grip gear. All have extensive experience in corporate, broadcast and commercial production, and will capture rich, cinema-quality footage.
