Energy & Power Generation
Coolfire has produced hundreds of internal videos to communicate company achievements, initiatives and procedures for clients like Ontario Power Generation, Enbridge Gas and TransCanada. Videos produced for the public include company profiles, an explanation of utility bills and an in-depth exploration of nuclear waste storage.
Coolfire understands the importance of nuclear and conventional safety procedures and are always well-prepared to film safely in challenging industrial environments.
In 2000, Ford of Canada’s dealership training agency contracted Coolfire to produce product knowledge videos for a fleet of over 20 vehicles. The process required elaborate studio product shooting, meticulous planning and a strict budget process. In subsequent years Coolfire took the lead in producing an annual series of DVDs, featuring over two hours of video and an elaborate DVD navigation plan.
More recently Coolfire has written and produced training, product knowledge and marketing videos for Mazda Canada.
Coolfire was tasked by Fairmont’s branding agency to produce and direct a series of five dramatic brand videos. Each short film features a unique personal moment that underscores the hotel’s brand statement - Everyone’s An Original.
Coolfire directed every aspect of production, including script writing, talent casting, high-end cinematography, shoot direction, wardrobe, decor and original music.
We learned early on that mastering documentary-style storytelling is an essential skill. Creating effective interview-based videos requires a clear understanding of our clients' message combined with an intuitive skill for drawing out that message from on-camera interviews. It’s not only about being prepared with the right questions - it also means turning interviews into conversations, and sometimes uncovering surprising, unexpected content.
But the magic really emerges in the edit suite where we finely tune the raw interview content, and blend music, graphics and additional footage to create compelling stories.
Animation & Motion Graphics
Some stories are best told without film crews and cameras. Motion graphics and animation has emerged as a highly effective and entertaining method to explain concepts and processes. Animation used to be only for clients with deep pockets, but today’s available graphic resources, motion graphic applications and editing tools have made animation as cost effective as filming for many projects.
Having a buttoned-down production plan is critical. Coolfire has developed a proven process of artwork development, storyboarding, rough cut creation sound design and final animation creation.
With a solid process in place, we can devote more time to the creative stuff - designing dynamic, impactful images to illustrate your message.
